Review:

The first time I looked at the title, there was a big smile on my face. Why you ask me?! Marriage is such a popular topic that we make fun of it when we are with our friends. There's this saying in Hindi, 'Shaadi ka laddu, jo khaaye woh pachtaaye aur jo naa khaye woh bhi pachtaaye.' (Marriage is such that the married, as well as the unmarried, suffer.) Isn't it funny! The married/unmarried always find the grass to be greener on the other side.

'How to Stay Happily Married' is a guide to make your married life peaceful and flourishing. It takes you right from the proposal stage to getting married to having a baby to in-laws and friends. The steps / helping points mentioned are in-depth; both the positive as well as the negative scenarios explained in detail. The ultimate aim mentioned in the book is happiness, self as well as your partner's.

The author, Alisha Sharma, has done a brilliant job of jotting down intents in detail when it comes to having a happy married life. She has kept the book very interactive, ensuring that you don't get bored. She does not just preach in her book but has also given real-life examples from her life. The topics and advice are very relatable. The language is uncomplicated and straightforward.

There is scope for improvement in terms of grammatical errors; this can be taken care of in the next edition. The book cover is adorable and apt for the subject in discussion. I would recommend this book to all the married couples, but especially those who are planning to get married. It'll leave you with a great deal to think about yourself and your partner. It's a short book, and you can finish reading it in one sitting.
