My Review:
Little
Lantern, Deep Darkness, book 1 in the trilogy by Sakiv Koch, seizes the
reader's attention immediately. The story commences as a puzzle from the very
first episode. Coping with absolute poverty, disturbing history, and nasty
present, the protagonist, dreams of a better tomorrow but has to go through a
lot of difficulties, with no guarantee of anything genuine. This story is
precisely like life itself, complicated yet intriguing.
Each chapter of the novel is more interesting than the
earlier one. Even the naming of each chapter is very appropriate. The
mother-son bond made me genuinely emotional. My most favorite part was when the
hero eventually resolves to take a stand facing the bully and give him what he
deserves. It's also like a message from the author that we need to stand for
ourselves and not let anyone take us for granted.
I loved the story inside the story plotline, and the
transition between them was pretty smooth. The questions on why and what all is
happening, bother not just the protagonist but also you. I read the novel all
over again to examine if I could find any hints to those mind-numbing problems.
It was a fabulous book, and I can't wait to get hold of Book 2 to unravel the
secrets.
The writing is understandable and dialogues pragmatic, which
makes it easy to read. The story-line is exceptional. Other than a couple of
errors, the book is appealing, right from the title, book cover, blurb, and the
content. In my view, everyone should read this book, especially those who love
mystery. It will leave the readers pondering.
Overall, a thought-provoking and spectacular read!
